Congratulations, Bethesda. You really knocked it out of the fucking park this time. I didn't think you could top yourself but you proved me wrong.

I don't even think Bethesda knows what made Skyrim so good as it was certainly not the radiant quests or the main story two things Fallout 4 is heavily known for.

Nah... I'd definitely say Skyrim was the last one. After that, it's been a steady ride downhill.
Oblivion Horse-armor? Hand-holding quests? Skyrim likwise. The only thing Skyrim had was Hype. Overrated game. ,)

Too bad Fallout 4 suffered it's own crippling problems. Dialogue, repeat quests, Engine tied to Framerate..
Fallout 2 is still the best one. ,)

You know what, they're so incompetent these days, it wouldn't surprise me.

Oblivion was a low point, but it wasn't even all that low, and they brought it back up with Skyrim. And as a very critical gamer and as a fan of Morrowind, I have to say, I don't think Skyrim deserves the flak it does. It's just been re-released over and over and over again to where everyone is sick of it now.

I'm also a Very critical gamer, so we have that in common. I will grant you that Skyrim sounds better than Oblivion.
Now that I re-read my comment, I'd like to clarify that I'm only critical within certain aspects, and might even be rather forgiving in others.
DRM and Gameplay faults fall squarely into the critical part, while I'm very forgiving of Graphics for example.
