Sorry for all the political threads lately. This should be the last one. I had to post this excellent video. The only thing I feel he doesn't cover is cyber warfare, reconnaissance, and counter-ops which will be a very big deal. The right may have the raw numbers to deal with the government more than twice over, but if they can keep the right disorganized and if they can get enough spies in key positions, that will give a HUGE advantage to the left.

I'd suggest just not having another Civil War, don't think "Winning" would be a actual prospect for anyone involved.
That is a scary possibility. That it'll just turn into a long bloody standstill with the right being too divided to actually pose a serious threat but the left unable to really get rid of them either. While I do think the right would have a moderately easy time winning, what I'm also afraid of is that the right will go too far in the other direction and the new government we get is oppressive in some other way.

Name one high profile target and tell how his death could sway the tide over.
All military groups are hierarchical. I don't think I've seen a single one that wasn't. The right will be no different and they will have key leaders as well. But even if we completely ignored that, spies in key positions can still be a HUGE advantage in other ways. Knowing when, where, and how the enemy will strike for example would be absolutely invaluable information to the left as well as simply knowing who's actually part of the right rebellion and where they live and/or set up camp.

The left would do alright for a time with hit & run tactics (re; antifa beating people then disappearing into crowds) but there's only so much that, that could accomplish. Meanwhile the right would excel at more direct engagements and could last in a more drawn-out war (re; local militias).
Either way, I think it'd be fascinating to see a civil war scenario play out

True. I however meant something else. War is not good. It's bad, very very bad. But sometimes it can be necessary. A Civil War however? That's kinda like cutting off your Nose to spite your face.

Let's just run with the idea of a right-wing vs left-wing civil war. So, what exactly would the goal be? The left's strongest points are concentrated on either end of the Landmass whilst dotting specific, often high population areas in the rest of the country. So, I'd say in either scenario, some kind of splitting off solution seems less then ideal for either side. If the Goal is essentially to subject them to your political will...how is that supposed to work? The US is pretty fucking huge and we are talking about what would have just been a literal enemy in War, even if you win, they aren't going to just cooperate, not matter who "they" is. So...what remains, mass political culling perhaps. So, basically complete destruction or at least to the point that any survivors would either be demoralized or few enough in Number to be suppressed, neither option seems plausible, but either way would obviously require atrocities. And considering how much effect a US Civil War would have on the World at large, I wouldn't expect that shit to stay civil if I were some would-be fighter. There would definitely be intervention.

So, from where I am standing there is nothing to be gained and plenty to lose.
