Ok, got my desktops folder uploaded

Some nice nature porn in there, but none of it's tagged properly. It's all numbers.
You're welcome to scrape your own Windows 10 lock screens folder and see how much you feel like changing their names. There's only so many ways to say "pretty sunset." And you have to do it on a Surface Tablet, because I had to.

1080. Nice. And black is nice and practical. Definitely could be worse. Why wasn't it worth it though?
4K gaming is a myth and SLI support is dying. With 4K, you have to lower the graphics down to medium to get a constant 60fps, which defeats the purpose.

For SLI, in many games, my extra card is just wasted.
I always thought 4K was overkill compared to 1080p. And even with 1080p, for me, that's kinda high. I like my 900p monitor. Wide enough to do everything I would ever need but small enough to save on graphics performance.

You could just sell your second 1080 though for some nice extra cash.

I do like having two monitors.

I will say that 4k is nice for general usage. I can have a bunch of information displayed on the screen at once. Handy for programming.

Pretty much yeah. I'm running SLI 1080s too, but it's not really worth it.

Only reason I have the second one was because right after I got mine a guy I know from work needed money urgently, so he sold his near-new one dirt cheap. Don't particularly like the guy so I thought "hey, whatever, his loss, my gain". Considered reselling it, but then some stuff happened and I kind of forgot about it.

There is absolutely nothing on my desktop, not even an wallpaper. No shortcuts and task-bar is set to auto-hide. I barely use the start menu too.

I do file management with a third party file manager and launching programs with a third party launcher.

Specs?

8-Core AMD CPU;
GPU good enough for 1080p and some virtual reality;
32GB RAM;
256GB SSD;
10+ TB Disks;
Sound card;
VR head-set.

Edit: added more 16GB RAM, for a total of 32GB.

You'll have to post a little more. Pictures won't appear until you have 10 posts.

Your picture didn't take properly. It's just a grey screen.

EDIT: Oops. That's what I get for not reading the post fully.

Eh, I kinda prefer having icons on my desktop, mostly just because I find it more convenient.

Check this out though. When you have a clean desktop, you have a clean workspace for any tasks or projects you're doing. Further, you can use txt files as sticky notes on the desktop. And finally, it just looks both nice and professional.

I see your points but
A) any tasks I'm doing are normally full-screened, so I don't see the desktop
b) I'm fine just using the sticky notes feature for any notes
and c) if i wanted to look professional, I doubt i'd have anime wallpapers
Its just easier for me to find whatever program I need if its right in-front of me. And yeah, I could use the taskbar for that, but i Like to keep the taskbar as unclutterd as possible

A. I'm actually talking mostly about any file operations like copying to a temporary directory or extracting to one or creating something quickly or etc.
B. I was gonna say something about Windows 10, but then I remembered that you have Windows 7. Carry on.
C. So don't have so much ANIME TIDDY. You should use the start menu. It's a little easier to access too when you're in the aforementioned fullscreened programs.

Still easy enough to do regardless of the amount of icons on my desktop

B. I was gonna say something about Windows 10, but then I remembered that you have Windows 7. Carry on.
and I'll be continuing to use 7 till I upgrade my pc in the next few months

C. So don't have so much ANIME TIDDY.
Vaild point, but at the same time, No-one apart from myself ever really sees me desktop.

Also valid point, but its just as easy to minimize, open whatever (unless its in the docs, etc. Libraries), and maximize again

Constant security issues being found with them. Worse performance now (ironically) compared to equivalent AMD.
Yeah, I'd been hearing that there were security issues, but I didn't really care enough to investigate further honestly 🤷‍♂️.

Honestly, I can't think of a single reason to get an Intel chip now. AMD has been running right over them in every way.
